KATHRYN ASHBY

Principal Solicitor

Kathryn is the Principal Solicitor and Founder of Ashby Family Solicitors. Kathryn’s vision for Ashby Family Solicitors was to establish a boutique specialist family law firm to offer personal support, assistance and representation for clients in family law proceedings.

Kathryn has worked closely with victims of domestic violence (both male and female) and volunteered extensively with the Domestic Violence Court Support Assistance Programs in the Local Courts.

Kathryn appears regularly in the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court and she has extensive experience running Interim and Final Hearings, briefing Counsel and working closely alongside Independent Children’s Lawyers and the Family Dispute Resolution Staff.

Kathryn is herself an Independent Children’s Lawyer and is appointed by the Court to represent and support the best interests of children in complex parenting matters.

Kathryn’s university studies were completed as she raised her four children on her own as a single parent. Kathryn’s life experience allows her to have specific insight and understanding into many of the issues confronting her clients.

Away from the office, Kathryn enjoys spending time with family and friends, travel and boating.
